Frank McIntosh’s work fuses Art Deco geometry with Polynesian motifs, presenting Hawai‘i through a lens of sophisticated fantasy.  McIntosh (1901–1985) was an American illustrator and designer best known for his striking Art Deco–inspired artwork created for Matson Lines in the 1930s and 1940s. Commissioned by Matson Navigation Company, he designed a celebrated series of menu covers and posters that helped define the visual identity of luxury Pacific travel.
