During the 1950s, travel by Matson's ocean liners, S.S. Monterey and S.S. Mariposa, was both a luxury and a growing sector in leisure tourism. This vivid travel poster features a native island woman walking along a sandy tropical shore beneath the shade of palm trees. Set behind her in deep blue waters is a Matson Lines cruise ship sailing toward Fiji.
