Charles Bartlett's cocktail menu illustration for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel features a solitary fisherman in the act of casting or gathering his fishing net. During the early to mid-20th century, the Royal Hawaiian commissioned bespoke artwork for promotional and hospitality materials—such as menus, brochures, and posters—to enhance the prestige of Pacific travel.
